Sally Jacks Showreel

Sally Jacks is a TV & Radio presenter in entertainment and fashion.

Sally was born in Burnley, Lancashire and attended Walton High School in neighbouring Nelson.

Sally Jacks (aka Jaxx)  is a bright, bubbly and super chatty Northern lass…bit of a lancashire Hot Pot if you like!

After years of am-dram, ballet classes and high kicks Sally got serious (not really!) and landed herself a place in the new line up of Bucksfizz alongside Mike Nolan and David Van Day. Sally soon ‘made her mind up’ (sorry) to go solo and started to write aswell. Touring all over the world appearing at large outdoor events and shows. Sally has released a number of dance tracks.

Under the stage-name Sally Jacks, she joined a re-formed version of former Eurovision Song Contest winners Bucks Fizz. Sally toured across Britain and Europe, appearing at huge events including gay prides with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Steps and Ronan Keating. Interviews and performances on ‘This Morning’, ‘Big Breakfast’, ‘GMTV‘, ‘Weekend WatchDog’, ‘Generation Game‘, shows with Graham Norton, plus tabloid and magazines.

Sally then decided to spread her wings and ventured out on her own touring the world. She has written and performed on tracks for ‘Clubland’, ‘Ministry Of Sound’, was the front girl for ‘United Nations’ (Daz Sampson). Opened the ‘Grand Prix Ball’ performing at ‘The Royal Albert Hall’ alongside Beverley Knight and has sung to 350,000 people in Beijing.

In 2006 Sally changed her name from Jacks to Jaxx to give her a new image with her UK hardcore music. In 2007 Sally co-wrote with Dougal and Gammer and sung the vocals on “Disco in the clouds” which featured on Ministry of Sound Dance EnergyThe Ultimate Adrenaline Rush. ‘I Don’t Want This Night To Ever End’ which was released with ClubLand. ‘Dancing With An Angel’ with Bass Slammers for Ministry Of Sound.

Sally begun dipping her toe in the world of presenting whilst with Bucksfizz for Granada and Bravo. But it wasn’t until she was told she talked to much that Sally ventured into presenting full time. Her gift of the gab took her not just to TV but to radio as well, having been presenter trained at the BBC. Sally loves interviewing, sharing a cuppa and a gossip with celebs such as ‘The Wanted’, ‘JLS’, ‘The Hairy Bikers’ and many a star. But Sally also loves real folk with brilliant and sometimes sad stories to tell.

In 2009 Sally became a regular presenter on 2BR covering all shows and having her own Weekend breakfast show, where she researched and produced the show herself, with wonderfully interesting guests.

Sally loves working for the BBC and has been an out and about roving reporter. Presented for shows such as ‘The Round Table’ with guests from all walks of life. Been number 1 cover for the ‘Retail Therapy show’ (OB) talking fashion and consumer affairs. Run like a mad woman on ‘ManHunt’, think Aneka Rice, ‘Treasure Hunt’ on the radio. A guest at ‘Ladies That Lunch’ and ‘Coffee Club’. A fashion piece on a Saturday afternoon and the brilliant 80’s Vs 90’s show with John Ryan. You can also currently hear Sally on BBC Breakfast with Graham Liver reading through the interesting stories in the morning papers. Sally covers for breakfast shows in the North and South for HEART and Gaydio in Manchester.

With over 3000 hours of experience in LIVE TV, Sally can now be found talking and sharing her tips on her absolute passion…FASHION on BID TV. See more below on Fashion with Sally Jacks.

WINNER…aarrgghhh…of ‘COME DINE WITH ME’ 2013 was an unbelievable experience for her, as before the show she had to use a ‘SatNav’ to find the kitchen. On May 10th 2013, after Sally was featured in the Channel Four’s show, she sold herself on EBAY, to cook for the winning bidder for the Sam Shaw Appeal.

A huge huge love of Sally’s is fashion and this has been part of her profession since leaving school. Even as a little girl her Mum could remember her wanting to pick out and change her outfits, to what she wanted…spoilt brat appearing. When joining Bucksfizz Sally became the stylist for the group. It was her idea to dress the group in Black PVC for the new release of ‘Makin Your Mind Up’ and to rip off the tops instead of the skirts…see GMTV. This was very much the trend of ’99 early 00s and caught the headlines with the girls being photographed in many a newspaper and magazine. Sally has styled herself as a solo artist for Ministry of Sound and ClubLand and has helped many a group and solo performer with quirky looks for shoots and stage performances. She still works as a stylist and shopper.

At hospital radio Burnley, where Sally started learning about radio, she produced a fashion piece in her show. This then transcended to local commercial and BBC, where she has talked about the history of fashion on the Saturday afternoon show and covered ‘Retail Therapy’ talking to other designers, stylists and the general public. Sally went back to’ The London College of Design’ to study Style and Design. Sally cannot get enough of buying a bargain and then making it her own, with a pair of scissors and accessories.

One of Sally’s mentors Cheryl Baker told her about a new presenter position at BID TV, Sally successfully landed herself the job and now works in live TV. Her fashion skills were noticed and now she brings you great fashion for real women everyday, sharing her tips and loving every minute of it.

She has presented at fashion events, interviewed established and up and coming designers and stylists, written fashion pieces for magazines. Sally designs for the Parisian company ‘Lotty Dotty’ and has her own collection ‘Sally Jacks’.
